Psychology of Golf
Have you ever seen a kid putt? They step onto the green without a care in the world and usually putt as good or better then we do. (especially the short ones!)
I remember how well I could putt when I was a kid. It seemed like every putt either dropped or burned the cup. I don't recall having any pre- shot routine , or thinking about my grip or follow through ever! Certainly not about missing! My only thought was about "how cool it's going to be when this goes in"
Is the key to a powerful mental golf game and playing better golf, to just relax and have fun? (or is that just for darts?)
Well that's my theory anyway, but I'm not the mental golf expert here. For that we have Dr. Laura DeMarzo, licensed Psychologist, who will answer all of your questions on the mental side of golf.
Take some time and read through the archives of questions to the golf psychologist and see if any relate to you and your game. If you'd like you can e-mail a specific question to Dr. "D" and we'll post your mental golf question and the answer here usually within 72 hours. (it's free!).
When submitting questions to Dr. "D". please use only your first name, city and/or state. (and country if outside the U.S.)
Thanks and remember..."Be The Ball".
