The Latest Equipment
Dave Rogers - ISAG angry writer
You know what really Tees Me Off? The guy you play with every weekend who hits about 1 out of 4 shots decent, and blames the other 3 on his outdated equipment! ("Outdated equipment" that puts yours to shame by the way.)
The next week like clockwork he's sporting the latest $500 Driver, guaranteed to give him an extra 20 yards and dart like accuracy off the tee. Unfortunately, instead of his usual slice into the trees about 180 yards out, he's now slicing into the trees about 183 yards out. You guessed it, he's complaining now that he should've gotten the stiff shaft!
Do us a favor if this is you, (you know who you are and you make us all sick.) take a small portion of the small fortune you spend each year on equipment and invest in some lessons. As long as you have decent clubs you don't need new sticks. A lesson or two and some dedicated practice will get you that extra 20 yards, not the latest war club.
With the exception of Rodney Dangerfield, golfers who suck, yet have all the latest, most expensive equipment
aggravate the rest of us.
If you absolutely just have to have it, throw an old sock over it so we don't have to see it. It'll make for a more relaxed atmosphere and you'll be less likely to get beat up in the parking lot after the round.
